This is where US should step in but they with EU & UK likely have similar goals.
When the US "steps in" it doesn't go well. It is better for the US to fund and develop democracy and privacy supporting tools.
I really meant in theory or given that India is a democratic country, the kind of global news or the environment that have developed after the pandemic… doesn’t seem bright. Like you’ve the EU that’s very vocal to UN and yet the arabs can get away with beheadings to Korea with dictatorship in this 21st Century, you’d at least want a democratic to not lose its democracy and the said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is already in his third term while seeking to cement his place permanent.
