Yes and no (when it comes to AMZN). I think they're appeal goes way beyond low prices and fast shipping. You get a consistent experience from the search to the checkout to the returns. There's real benefit in not having to visit 5 sites for 6 items.
Now what would REALLY be a game changer is a federated shopping platform.
Honestly, Amazon isn't even low price anymore. I compared everything I got for Christmas with Amazon and Walmart this year and Walmart was cheaper or the same price on every single item. Fucking bezos making me praise Walmart.
Like an internet mall! That would be really cool...this seems so obvious, surely it's been done and I'm just completely out of touch with the world?
