Yippee, more updates to the corporate DRM cable that you shouldn't be using anyway!
i just had another hdmi cord fail yesterday! what a good design :/
Really? I've had more trouble with DisplayPort since I keep forgetting about the locking feature and bust the jacket off.
I honestly prefer HDMI cables, but I hate the closed nature of the HDMI standard.
I have genuinely never had a HDMI or DP cable break on me, guess I'm lucky 🤷♀️
I think I've had one HDMI connector get bent out of shape, and I've broken 2 or 3 DP cables due to the locking bit. And I've only been using DP for 5 years and have used HDMI for >10 (15?). The DP lock is solving a problem I've never had, while creating one I never considered to be an issue.
So I honestly prefer HDMI in general, and I'd have no reason to care about DP if HDMI standards people weren't such thugs. But alas, DP has basically won the PC, so I guess I'll get used to the clip.
You can get DP cables without the lock
