birding
Welcome to /c/birding, a community for people who like birds, birdwatching and birding in general! Feel free to post your birding photos or just photos of birds you found in general, but please follow the rules as outlined below.
-
This should go without saying, but please be nice to one another. No petty insults, no bigotry, no harassment, hate speech, nothing of that sort! Depending on the severity, you'll either only get your comment removed and a warning or your comment will be removed and you will be banned from /c/birding.
-
This is a community for posting content of birds, nothing else. Please keep the posts related to birding or birds in general.
-
When posting photos or videos that you did not take, please always credit the original photographer! Link to the original post on social media as well, if there is one.
-
Absolutely no AI-generated content is allowed! I know it has become quite difficult to tell whether or not something is AI-generated or not, but please make sure that whatever you post is not AI-generated. If it is, your post will be removed. If you continously post AI-generated content, you'll be banned from /c/birding (but it's obviously okay if you post AI-generated stuff once or twice without knowing you did so).

Please provide rough information location, if possible. This is a more loosely-enforced rule, especially because it is sometimes not possible to provide a location. But if you post a photo you took yourself, please provide a rough location and date of the sighting.

Beautiful!
Would you share what device this is that you're using? Very curious.
Binoculars w phone adapter
There are various universal adapters if you already have binoculars. Just search up binoculars phone adapter and you should find multiple options that are similar.
Very interesting. Thank you. I've been wanting something similar and haven't really found anything that works for me yet
It's a bit clunky, but it seems to work well enough for my needs. I'm not a great photographer, so that helps. 😅
I got it as a gift and I enjoy it overall for my purposes.
I got the gift of a lens that attaches to a phone, but it didn't fit properly. I've yet to replace it, but have been wanting something for some time.
This works reasonably well, and you have a regular functioning phone and binocs when you're not using them together.
It doesn't seal tight against the lens, but it works well enough with any of my phone cases on, and the amount of light leakage hasn't diminished the image quality for me in any way that bothers me.
That's really cool. You'll find me pushing my phone against my binos sometimes and I look like a fool and the image has come out foolish half the time. But every once in awhile, you get something really nice. I'd like to maximize that. Haha
I did see a video where a guy was just using some stiff rubber bands to hold the phone snug. He seemed to have success with that.
And that's definitely the kind of silliness I've been up to. Did that with a telescope to get some fun moon shots once. 😁
Whatever gets the job done!
Necessity is the mother of all invention and all that... 😁
