I was skeptical about Sterling when he came in. And he's not really done much to change my mind. Hopefully he finds his feet and does well with us. But I'm just not seeing it. And unless his form improved significantly, I'd be very relieved if we didn't turn his into a permanent deal.

I feel like Sterling needs a bit of game time and then can show what he's worth; problem is we don't seem to be finding time where he can play.

I agree - he's a confidence player. In which case signing him was a terrible choice! He was always going to be a backup player, which means he'll never get a consistent run in the team.

Though talking to some Man City and Chelsea fans, Sterling has never been that consistent. And that's been a big factor in why he hasn't stuck around at those clubs for longer (although I know he was with City for a while). I feel like if he lowered his salary expectations a bit and signed for a mid-level team, he might really thrive. Because on his good days he could turn games for them, and on his bad days the occasional fuck-up on the wing is tolerable. But at least he'd get a consistent run in the team.

Dear God no, we cannot keep both Sterling and Jesus. It's nice having a both-sided winger for backup (in both cases, actually), but having two misfiring attackers is untenable.

My prediction ceiling is Sterling scores no more than 5 goals, and maybe one of them wins us a game and raises his stock a bit. Jesus might do bits in the CL but I'm losing more and more hope every week that he'll ever get back to his pre-knee days.
