I'd like to mention that plant-based foods doesn't mean buying beyond burgers or shit like that. that crap is horrible for you. plant-based is making meals that incorporate actual veggies. It's a big Corpo tatic they are using with these "plant-based" snack/meant alternatives and just stuffing them with horrible stuff still, making them no different than eating meat.
That's not a "corpo tactic"; the "plant-based" label is there for vegetarians and vegans who want to eat something that wasn't tortured and killed even if it's unhealthy. While there is some emerging evidence that while still not good for you, they're mildly better than eating red meat burgers, it's obviously still not good for you, and plant-based for your health should be legumes, seeds, nuts, veggies, fruits, whole grains, cereals, plant milk, etc. Plenty of plant-based stuff is bad for you; a diet consisting solely of french fries, Oreos, and soda would be plant-based.
I agree, but the majorty of people who i have seen who go on "plant-based" diets are just eating the junk food versions of plant based. they are ordering veggie meals takeout which is usually fried or made of things you have no clue what its been made with, how much salt, etc...
For me, plant based is using raw veggies, and making a meal with that. include some starches if you will, but NO premade "vegan friendly" foods. The only plant based milk i drink is hemp due to how much stuff is NOT added to it. To each their own, just how i see it.
I eat plant based because I don't want to hurt animals. That said, vegan junk food is just too expensive to eat all the time. I'm mostly just living off actual food I prepare and cook myself. Lots of veggies, rice, beans, soy, etc.
But I will demolish one of those garbage vegan pizzas in a single sitting lol
fair enough, i'm not trying to judge btw, just what my view of plant-based is. I fucking love veggies.
