Is this another one of those grifts where the taxpayers foot the bill for a brand new stadium?

Actually not really. The stadium is more controversial because the neighborhood (Chinatown) is against it. The team isn’t asking for much from the city, mainly zoning stuff. Residents are super upset about traffic, noise, and a few other issues.

They are definitely getting tax breaks, but it’s not like the city is bankrolling the whole thing like you see in most places..
