This is a place to motivate each other to control or stop drinking. It is also a place for non drinkers to discuss and share.

Good morning fellow sobernauts, IWNDWYT 😁!

We may be anonymous strangers on the internet, but we have one thing in common. We may be a world apart, but we’re here together!

Welcome to the 24 hour pledge! I’m pledging myself to not drinking today, and invite you to do the same.

Maybe you’re new to c/stop drinking and have a hard time deciding what to do next. Maybe you’re like me and feel you need a daily commitment or maybe you’ve been sober for a long time and want to inspire others.

It doesn’t matter if you’re still hung over from a three day bender or been sober for years, if you just woke up or have already completed a sober day. For the next 24 hours, let’s not drink alcohol!

I will not drink with you today! But for those struggling and silent and just reading:

I’ve been struggling too.

I crashed at my two year mark this summer.

And life has gotten harder, short term I hope.

I talked to my doctor this week and starting naltrexone.

Do NOT be ashamed if you can’t do it alone.

I’m sorry to hear you are struggling. I hope things start looking up for you.

I'm sorry you're struggling but I'm glad you're seeking extra help.

I've said it before but don't try harder, try different - extra supports, different supports. By that I mean:

  • If religious AA doesn't work, try secular AA or SMART recovery or Recovery Dharma.
  • If 0.5% beers put you at risk of relapsing, avoid them. There's lots of interesting craft sodas and other things to try these days instead.
  • Talk to your doctor about medical support, about referrals to therapy, about anything else they can offer. And so on. 🫂
