Being able to afford coffees and living in places where coffee is consumed regularly extends your lifespan. Why do these studies never control for those variables.

Depends who their control group was. Probably people from the same area who don't drink coffee.

A team from the University of Coimbra in Portugal looked at 85 previous studies involving participants across Europe, the Americas, Australia, and Asia, analyzing coffee's relationship to mortality rates and health indicators.

I doubt it.
