General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both [email protected] and [email protected] .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

[email protected] appears to have vanished! We can still see cached content from this link, but goodbye I guess! :'(

Now this is a slippery slope I can get behind. Now you just need to convince your Northern voters.

I'm semi taking the piss. The northerners I'm referring to are the red wall voting Labour voters that felt so strongly about Brexit that they voted in a blonde haired clown to see it through.

North South East West aside, Labour still have a huge problem in that a sizeable proportion of their electorate is pro Brexit. Not as existential as the Tories, mind. But they can't afford to lose these to Reform or back to the Tories. They'll need to make a hard decision to leave these voters out of their electoral calculus for several elections if they want to align closer (or rejoin) with the EU.

It's for that reason I don't believe we'll rejoin under either Labour or (obviously) Tories. The Tories you can understand. It's Labour that I'm disappointed with.
