This comic started out as an attempt to make pornography. It degenerated into a sex comedy pretty much immediately

I've had a rule for myself that if the comic went 100 strips without Marten I was done, because I'd consider it no longer the thing I was into. The cast of characters has ballooned so far, so many have come and gone, and it felt...well kind of like Oglaf for awhile. You know how it had a story with the harlot queen's apprentice for awhile then that ended and it became random mostly bawdy mostly medieval mostly sex mostly comedy strip of the week? It started to feel like that, "What's Clinton up to?" "Remember these three characters?" About a year ago he seemed to find a new story arc he wants to go on, and the last couple months have felt like tying up loose ends, visiting some old characters one last time before there's a major shift.

It might be telling that I'm struggling to come up with major plot points over the last few years.

Sounds like it's more or less where I left it. There definitely was a story there at some point, and it felt well written and heartfelt. However, over time it did feel like new characters were being introduced cause some had seen there story arc and the writer just couldn't move on.

I'd love to be able to jump in knowing there is some conclusion, or at least sunsetting for the original main characters. Not sure how realistic that is.

This may be part of the reason why I've found conflict driven web comics less risky to jump into. Eventually you overcome the challenge or you don't.

Edit: Also, thanks for the info!
