Mr. Litton, however, could not legally buy a gun because he was a felon. Mr. Honea said investigators believed that the handgun that Mr. Litton used was a homemade, untraceable gun made of parts from different weapons, often called a “ghost gun.”

So, what did California's gun control regime accomplish here?

To answer your rhetorical question:

Nothing, he was barred from buying one so he made a gun which is

A) Federally illegal for felons

B) also illegal for anyone in CA,

So basically they achieved an extra charge or two to tack on to all the murders, if he hadn't shot himself I guess because you can't charge a corpse.

The kids are in critical but stable condition, per the article. Hopefully they don't become murder victims.

I read that but I guess my brain didn't catch up lol, "..extra charge to stack on to the attempted murders,"* my bad.
