For the non Americans who complain about long doctors appointments. Imagine paying hudreds of dollars every paycheck for insurance, and still having to pay thousands to get a procedure done. That's private insurance in a nutshell.
And thats IF insurance decides to cover the procedure. You have to do your due diligence to ensure the doctors and anesthesiologist is in network. But if they don't cover it that's fine. The "speedy" justice department will allow you to appeal the decision. Just make sure the infection your treating isn't spreading.
And we have the same wait times. Anyone who ever says that wait times for single payer in the EU or Canada are what pushes them away, are either lying or have never scheduled anything. We can end up waiting months for a specialist. Hell last time I went to a specialist, it took 4 weeks and I have very good insurance.
