I made a joke about how Russia was a bit behind in video game tech in the 90's and got banned, lol.

.. somebody would be upset about that unless they had a hard-on for Russia

He clearly does.

Want to know the fun bit?

Davel refuses to answer whether he's pro-Russian. Which he clearly is. He literally claims to be an American. An American who somehow happens to favour Russia, say things like "reality has a well known Russian propaganda bias" and "Ukraine needs to be denazified by Russia" and "Uighur genocide isn't happening" (that last one is kinda 2019, but still.)

People like him are not an insignificant part of why Trump won.

Going through some of the communities you were banned in, Davel isn't a mod in any of them that I checked. In fact, a lot of them only have a single mod, and it's not even the same user.

I think you actually pissed off one of the .ml admins, and I'm willing to bet it's the same one that's both a self-proclaimed tankie, core Lemmy dev, and the only moderator of the socialism community on their instance. You were even instance banned for 7 days:

Banned [email protected]
reason: Rule 2
expires: in 7 days

Notice the lack of community name in that entry. I thought the .ml admins learned something from the backlash last time they abused their position and banned people from communities they don't moderate, but I can't say I'm surprised that they're going back to their old tricks.

Clearly, changes must be made.

How can we ban @[email protected] from accessing the mod logs?

Otherwise people will keep licking that boot of transparency, verified information, and freedom.

There's one magic command for that:

iptables -A input -s 0.0.0.0/0 -j DROP
