the wallpaper emits infra red, so it heats you and stuff in the room directly
unlike traditional heating which heats the air and the air heats everything else
i presume you actually need less energy and still be warm with the infrared emitter same way you dont feel cold even when its freezing and the sun is up
Heat pumps can create at least 2-3 times the amount of heat from the same amount of electricity compared to resistive heaters like these.
So you will almost always use more energy with (infrared) resistive heaters. The only exceptions are when you only rarely use a room for short amounts of time, like a bathroom. IR heaters are much quicker, so you can keep the room cold when you don't need to use it.
Anyone trying to convince you otherwise is just trying to sell you their variant of an electric heater with huge margins.
It's presumably also heating a lot of other things. That would be nice if true though.
