$100 million budget shortfall in $1.5 billion budget.

1st proposal: Closing 21 out of 73 schools => $70 million budget shortfall

Latest (rejected) proposal: Closing/consolidating 4 schools => $95 million budget shortfall

Dissenting viewpoint: Reduce administrative costs, not "teachers, principals, and staff" who have direct impact on kids.

New proposal: Lobby for more money
