I feel like there may be some Riot conditions to not clearly kill playable characters so it doesn't conflict with the game.

It wouldn't be the first time a playable character / champion has died - at least they didn't disable them this time!

edit: then again (and we're in a spoilers thread so) Ambessa seems very dead-dead, not maybe-has-plot-armor dead.

I haven't followed the game fo years so I didn't know she was playable.

Season 2 of Arcane's made me start checking it out again - Ambessa is being added as a champ and apparently Mel is coming next year.
