Yeah, I don't know if I trust a pest control company to give accurate information about critters in an advertisement for their removal services. They have financial incentive to exaggerate the dangers of wildlife.

While that may be the case, i also don't trust randoms from the internet.

That's fair, I am also biased in favor of opossums because I hate ticks.
