Crazy to think that in a year where we got new installments of Hellblade, Homeworld, Dragon Age and Dragon's Dogma none of them are even in contention for Game of the Year. Not saying they deserved better, just that it sounds surprising.
I'm surprised they nominated Shadow of the Erdtree instead of making a "game addition/expansion" category that would include DLC and mods.
They have form.
On previous years Phantom Liberty was nominated for Best Narrative and Blood and Wine won Best Role Playing Game.
