Absolutely heartbreaking. Seeing where this crash took place, I can only guess that the driver failed to stop and ran right through the cross-ride.

Ontario would rather blame the victim, punish cyclists, and remove bike lanes so that cars can blow through stop signs without killing anyone.

I'd put a sarcasm tag at the end of that, but the reality is that our Government doesn't believe that lives matter unless you're in a car.

We had a young girl killed while riding an e-scooter last year. Similar situation to this (driver went through a stop sign), but do you know how Oshawa reacted?

Some council members wanted our e-scooter rental pilot “suspended” (cancelled). Ultimately, they forced the rental company to geo-fence off that area, which is a fairly important route to get to some critical destinations (high school, grocery stores, actual cycling infrastructure north of Taunton Road).

I will add that no modifications to that particular stop was done to prevent this from happening again.

Punish riders, and coddle drivers.
