I did this on Firefox, but I suspect it may work in other browers too.

  1. Install the Violentmonkey extension. Tampermonkey or Greasemonkey will also do.
  2. Install the Lemmy tools script.
  3. Browse to Lemmy
  4. Click on the screw driver icon on the LemmyTools bar that is now visible on the Lemmy page.
  5. Scroll down and check the box next to "Content Blocking"
  6. Add your block words in the "Add filters seperated by commas." box. I typed "Trump, Vance" Voila!

True, but as a non US person I don't give a shit about US politics or personalities.

Don't forget, the US has nukes. We're everybody's problem.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 month ago (2 children)

We just assume you're dumb enough to nuke yourself.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

if all the nukes America has went off at once, wouldn't it be enough to destroy the planet or something?

[–] slazer2au 1 points 1 month ago

They have almost nuked them a couple times.

We live in a global society, my friend.

Unfortunately they affect us all.

Like it or not, the US has tremendous influence around the world. The rise in populism may not appeal to you, but that doesn’t mean that it may not be coming for you.

Some people are active in their own political communities without needing the likes of their online meme communities and other peripheral interests being flooded by political discussion from Americans.

An important step towards reducing America’s tremendous influence around the world is to divest ourself from participation in their political sphere at a cultural and national level.

We don’t need to constantly validate Americans that their country is the political centre of the entire world. That’s part of the problem.

Again, true. But still don't give a shit about US politics and personalities.

I don't blame you in the slightest. I'm American and I'm sick to death of the clown show.

That’s your choice. Godspeed
