Idk what's worse: not voting and making your voice useless out of apathy or laziness, or voting third party and making sure your voice means nothing on purpose.

The whole point of a democracy is people speak their minds, is it not?

If you vote third party, your vote is an extension of your true self. If you vote for a potential winner just out of the likeliness they'll win, is that really "you"?

Same logic if you don't vote. In Australia, voting is a requirement for all citizens, and it's disastrous because you end up with people who just don't care filling up some random candidate's score, so the outcome doesn't reflect what people actually want.

If you vote third party, your vote is an extension of your true self.

Your true self is a waste of time.

By that logic, everything is a waste of time if more people are spending it some other way.

Voting third party in the american system is a waste of time. If voting third party is your true self, then your true self is a waste of time.

Is it not better, by definition, than spending time dishonestly?

[–] redisdead 0 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I don't consider having an impact, even if it's not exactly the one you'd like to have, to be worse than pissing away your vote.

A vote spent dishonestly is what I'd call a pissed away vote.

Enjoy having your voice literally not matter. Definitely worth it.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

You say that as if voting for the lesser of two evils is by definition worth it.

[–] redisdead 0 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Enjoy your bigger evil just because you needed to feel morally superior. Definitely worth it.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

That would've happened anyways.

[–] redisdead 0 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Maybe, but at least you'd have been able to say you were not part of the problem.

Sounds like you're saying "anyone who isn't with me is against me."

Anyone who doesn't fight fascism is a fascist, yes.
