He didn't build shit, and he deserves credit for nothing. They don't have to work that hard at it. All they need to do is invent some grievance, then concoct a conspiracy theory involving the words "Democrats" and "immigrants." The rest of the details don't matter, because their base is primed to get angry and shut off their brains when they hear those words.
