Last time I checked, this community wasn't that active, which is why I created the other one.
I am now having a look, and I see that Lemmy.ml has defederated Ani.social, so that's unfortunate π
Otherwise we could have joined forces here or there
Apologies, I didn't want to divert traffic from ~~your~~ this community, so I refrained from mentioning it. That is unfortunate. Neither seems terribly active if I'm being honest with you, so dividing them isn't the best thing in my opinion
Yeah, none is clearly that active.
At some point I got some momentum, that you can still see with the 749 users / 6 months, but I never really found that much content to post there. I was waiting for DB Daima to release, and well, here we are!
Edit: I had a look, seems like these were the two annoucements from ani.social on this:
It is what it is I suppose. Should I cross post my discussion thread to a general anime community?
Similar issue I guess:
https://lemmyverse.net/communities?query=anime&order=active_month
There seems to be federation issues between ani.social and hexbear as well: https://hexbear.net/c/[email protected] returns an error
Sad. I wish I knew how to help grow it
This is a topic we regularly discuss on [email protected]
Long story short: enough people need to agree together on one community to make it grow.
Seems like for anime in general, there are two active communities, so at the end you either choose one and only post on it, or post to both.
I'll go subscribe to that. I don't have anything to add at the moment, but maybe others thoughts will help spark my own
In the meantime, I'll promote the [email protected] on [email protected]
