Despite a great showing by Wheeler, the Mets seemed to be able to hit anything the bullpen threw them. It was crazy how efficient NY suddenly became. Meanwhile, our bats stayed pretty quiet all night. I hope the Phillies bats wake up in game two.

Wheeler’s whiffs were insane. 6 in the first inning alone iirc (on 11 pitches I think?)

Wasn’t surprised about Hoffman since he had a rough outing in the last (second to last? Can’t remember) game of the year.

At the end of the day, there’s two big issues:

  1. Teams that get the first round bye struggle
  2. The Mets are hot. They’re on a roll and that’s important, even if it’s just psychological

I’d rather face any other team right now besides the Mets tbh.
