I have played the PS2 one (or one of them; I don't remember it's full name) and the GBA one when they were new and I didn't really care for them. My best friend, though, loved the PS2 one. But then, it was literally the only Sims game he owned then; I had 1 and 2 and all the expansions at the time for PC.
I have also played 4 on console more recently, and it's exactly the same as the PC version... Except the controls are absolutely terrible.
The unique ones like Busting Out and Urbz just never got me because 90% of what I do in the main games is build. The console games back in the day were more focused on social interactions and a sort of puzzle like gameplay (for lack of a better descriptor). Controlling the sims was not what I played The Sims for, and that's what those console games seemed entirely focused on.
