I was a stupid young man. IMO, most of the reason younger people are less likely to vote is that they are far more likely to be in jobs that, one way or another, provide less opportunity to go vote. Plus they are less likely to be able to afford to take time off or pay for transportation.

Of course there's vote by mail in many places now, but one of the dumbest moves (for their own interests) conservatives have done is to call into question the legitimacy of mail-in ballots - now conservatives I've heard speaking on the matter refuse to use mail-in ballots, which I suspect will end up meaning that some conservative voters that don't have the time or means to get to a voting booth will miss out on voting entirely rather than send in a mail ballot.
