Lastnight the game came under DDOS attack yet again. I’ve not been able to log in this morning to see if this has been resolved yet but they’ve not reported the recovery on The Lodestone so I’m assuming it’s still ongoing.

I was there!

I had just logged on and then the game itself was super laggy so I decided to log off. But even that was not working as intended and I had to try to log off a couple of times before it'd let me. Then the queue when trying again was 927.

Luckily, I think they resolved it in about 20-30 minutes.

During that time I did the always fun thing of re-watching all the opening movies for the expansions. I recently moved my PC into the living room and now play on my big TV with surround sound. It's a treat!

Oh nice! I don’t have surround sound, so I can only imagine it’s a great experience. I go back and watch them every so often, always fun to do.

Yeah, they are great. Even a little touch emotional after all these years of seeing the story develop.

It's kind of funny because surround sound sort of got me into the game to begin with back in 2013. My friends and I used to play WoW, but hunkering down on a PC with a mouse and keyboard honestly isn't that comfortable. And then we heard that FF14 2.0 was coming out and you could just use a controller and be able to play it in your living room on your super duper PS3 with your good living room speakers and setup! So that really got me excited.

Eventually I built a new PC and moved over to there (but still play with the controller because KB/M is no fun for me). And then for years just played in my office until recently just wanting a change of scenery since I sit in this office for work all day.

It was a great choice, and I'm really excited about the game again.
