There are some food that are easier to start for babies, like avocado, banana, cooked carrots/brocoli. There is an app called "Solid Starts" that show how to serve each food depending on the baby age.
We did it with my child and it can be scary at first, but they learn themself how to chew. Would do it again. Also a good moment to introduce allergen like peanut butter or mustard. But only one at a time.
