Yes it is mind blowing that Russia continues to accept these losses for basically no gains.
They passed half a million on May 25th. So an extra 100k in less than 3 months!
Crazy.
To put this into historical perspective, the Soviet war in Afghanistan took the lives of just over 14,000 soldiers with an additional 53,000 or so wounded. That war ran for 9 years.
It looks like Russian losses Ukraine will be more than 10 times as much as Afghanistan in a few months with this war only going on 2 years and 6 months.
For even more perspective, the United States lost 58,220 killed and 153,303 wounded in Vietnam between 1964 and 1975. 211,523 losses over 11 years.
