Explanation: After the Spartacus revolt, a revolt led by gladiatorial slaves, the resulting prisoners taken by the Roman forces were offered a reward if one of them would point out their leader, Spartacus. None of them did. In popular culture, due to the (very excellent if not necessarily accurate) movie Spartacus (1960), this is represented as all the rebels claiming to be Spartacus.
Unfortunately for them, as the Romans were not exactly shy about punishing large numbers of slaves or rebels, this simply ended with all of them being crucified.
I know this is probably the wrong community for this, but the sheer thought of all of them getting crucified at once instantly made me think of this scene in Monty Python’s Life of Brian…

The Pythons legitimately did have an excellent understand of history, including the Classical era. Very well-educated fellows.
