the driver told a trooper that he was using Tesla’s Autopilot system and looked at his cellphone while the Tesla was moving

We're entering the period where autonomous vehicles are good, but not quite good enough to completely remove the human from the loop yet. It's important to treat these systems as what they're capable of, rather than what people might think they are capable of.

I can't wait till we're like that show upload, and the cars all just drive themselves and communicate with each other while you bang in the back seat
