Matthew Colin Taibbi is an American author, journalist, and podcaster. He has reported on finance, media, politics, and sports. A former contributing editor for Rolling Stone, he is the author of several books, former co-host of the Useful Idiots podcast, and publisher of the Racket News on Substack. Taibbi began as a freelance reporter working in the former Soviet Union. He later worked as a sports journalist for the English-language newspaper The Moscow Times. In 1997, Taibbi and Mark Ames co-edited the tabloid newspaper The eXile. In 2002, Taibbi returned to the United States and founded the Buffalo-based newspaper The Beast. He left a year later to work as a columnist for the New York Press. In 2004, Taibbi began covering politics for Rolling Stone. In 2008, Taibbi won a National Magazine Award for three columns he wrote for Rolling Stone. Taibbi became known for his brazen style, having branded Goldman Sachs a "vampire squid" in a 2009 article.

I am against echo chambers and political bubbles, so I try really hard to watch and read others with diverse ideas that may challenge my own bias. 

Matt Taibbi is one of those journalists who has more than enough experience and an excellent history of reporting to know that he is vital in seeing the bigger picture—another piece of a puzzle we call life.
