As much as I hate to admit it, I am liking threads. I gave up twitter once man child took over and moved to mastodon. But a lot of the local news I followed never made it to mastodon and they haven’t moved to Lemmy, kbin, squabbles, etc yet.

I hate that it is a meta product but until the local news sources move somewhere else I will still use it, only sparingly.

I do wonder if they will actually choose an open platform? Most them seem to be aware of Mastodon and are also aware of Twitter's problems, and yet...they seem to hold out for something like Threads. Maybe it's just simpler for them to think about, I don't know.

How are local news sources engaging with Threads?
