Discussion about the aussie.zone instance itself

founded 1 year ago
MODERATORS

So, I've just done something that I said I'd be reluctant to do in future without community consultation and blocked an instance.

I don't think anyone will have any issues with it, but I figured I'd let everyone know since this executive decision affects all aussie.zone users.

Looks like it was a single dickhead, who the instance have now dealt with.

Did you visit the instance URL? That was the decider for me.

Edit: ok, they look legit now. At 6am, it was an anti-trans meme.

Better to be overly cautious and restore later. You did the right thing.

I totally forgot aussie.zone admins get these reports. When I report a post or comment from another instance do admins from both instances receive them? I'll be a bit reluctant to report stuff from other instances if it means aussie.zone admins have to deal with the extra work. Not that I've reported anything much else lately.

Don't hesitate. Yes, if you report something anywhere, Lodion and I (90% chance it's me) see it. There honestly aren't very many reports in general, and because we have a question on our sign up page, we're fairly sure that the accounts we approve are human. So complaints against aussie.zone users are rare. ^*^

If the report is for another instance, I'll almost always do nothing. This one is an obvious exception to that, of course.
