Pretty grim result, but I think it's fair. I haven't felt the CBD is a particularly safe place to be for a long time, and the reason for that is some of the residents, who, to put it nicely, you can never quite predict what they will do next.

And, of course, there's the state of the infrastructure.

I've had derros get aggressive with me because they didn't like the way I looked at them, and this was during working hours.

Being constantly asked for money gets old fast as well.

Oh I don't look at strangers. You risk catching the eye of a UNICEF fundraiser, safer to stare at the ground.

Same here, walk fast and don't make eye contact.

I don't think Council realise just how grating being constantly pestered for money can be actually. It definitely means I don't go to certain parts of Wellington unless I have to.
