They aren't written by experts. They are written by the chrapest writer that could be found. The error rates on a traditional encyclopedia is about the same as on Wikipedia. The only thing people love more than making shit up os calling people out when you know they are making shit up. Wikipedia is just as acceptable an academic source as Encyclopedia Brittanica. You can use it for some non-critical tangentially related information, but it's a starting off point
