Albon has now outqualified Perez in 5 of the 10 races so far this season. (Australia, Monaco, Canada, Austria, Great Britain)

But otoh when you listen to interviews with Helmut Marko he still says Perez is helping win the constructors. And basically noone is available to replace him. He's not happy with one driver qualifying 1st the other one 16th. But he also says Perez usually delivers ok races.

So for the season he's probably ok as long as the constructors championship will get won. For next season we'll see. But I imagine if Perez picks up again for the coming races and just finish 2nd in te drivers championship he'll be there next season as well.

yea that‘s true. he delivers on race day an collects DOTD awards.
