I have a challenge for you. Feel free to ignore if it isn't your thing.
I'm creating a science fiction universe for fun. Tell me what they will wear. Here are the basic constraints:
I'm likely to make this open source under a share alike license some time soon. I have an enormous amount of info already created for a detailed future universe and around half of a book written. I have no illusion of grandeur. No one is likely to read or pay attention to anything I create. I have no credentials or connections. It is simply a fun hobby endeavor. I haven't put any time into thinking about clothing that people might wear. It is about the only way I know how to participate here and say 'I'm happy you're here,' at least that is my intent in saying all of this.
Haha that came outta left field, but I'm into futuristic fashion, specifically cyberpunk fashion: https://www.jilanico.com
What you're describing is more biopunk or solarpunk tho. This article might provide some inspo: https://nextnature.net/story/2019/bio-textiles
Thanks for the kind words <3
Thanks for that awesome reference. I had no idea things had already gotten that far. I'm going further into bio compute, post scarcity, kilometers scale self replicating drones, and several space colonies in a strictly hard science fiction context. So no FTL, aliens, or exceptionalism/hero stories; just boring stuff like me. Mostly I'm flipping the AI situation to take away the killer machine gods trope and put them in biological parity with humans then basically asking a lot of questions by letting them play out circumstantially.
What got you into the whole wearables thing? I etch my own circuits and do Arduino like designs from time to time.

Don't know what got me into it. Probably consuming a lot of cyberpunk media growing up. I've played with Arduino too, but haven't etched my own circuits yet :)

And maybe if people are growing extra arms, etc., you'd need the clothing to accommodate.
