Tried to uninstall / reinstall wefwef app. Uninstalled my browser instead, now wefwef insists that it's still installed but it seems like just my regular web browser. (sh.itjust.works)

I'm confused! Before I uninstalled wefwef all of the browser interface was hidden. But now the address bar and "new tab" button plus other interface elements visible.

Can you try again? There was a bug in the previous release that had an issue installing android as a PWA
