List of 2K games:
BioShock (since 2007).
Borderlands (since 2009).
Civilization (since 2005).
Mafia (since 2010).
X-COM (since 2012).
NBA 2K (since 2005).
PGA Tour 2K (since 2018).
WWE 2K (since 2013).
Top Spin (2005–2011, since 2024.

It's gotta be either Civ or Borderlands. And I'm only including Borderlands because of that show or movie or whatever it is. They already confirmed Bioshock and Mafia being worked on. The sports games would never be teased like this. And then there's XCOM... which thankfully 2 is amazing.

Really? It wouldn't play on my machine back when it first came out so I returned it and never went back after seeing a ton of negative reviews about the timed missions. Did they update that part or was the bad feedback overblown?

Oh man I have a couple thousand hours logged in on that game. It's beautiful.

You get past the "timed" missions as soon as you learn how to play the game. They're a non-issue. I honestly completely forgot about that until you just brought it up.

Oh awesome. I'll have to try it again. I have a couple hundred hours in xcom 1 and play long war from time to time. Exciting to have a 'new' game to play!

I mean, Solomon left recently, who I kinda consider the reason those XCOM remakes were so good. Not sure if I'd really be that excited by a third entry.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago

Exactly, I agree. I would be very weary of a new one.

I thought Gearbox self-published Borderlands 3? It's gotta be civ7.

As an aside, man 2k doesn't have shit going for them. I thought they were a much larger publisher than that.

Right? I was surprised by the list too. I know NBA is goddamn money printer though. That and Civ probably pay the bills for them these days. I don't even know what Top Spin is.

Oh thanks. I think we found the new golden franchise!

It looks like they released Top Spin 2K25 less than a month ago.

Pitchford confirmed BL4 last year or before.

If it was that long ago it's probably that then.

If it IS a new XCOM game I'll eat a pizza.
I like pizza.

I dislike wordplays like this. So if BL4 has been announced by pitchford (gearbox) could this announcement be the same thing, but since it’s them announcing it it’s “new”?

Or is it actually something no one has previously confirmed.

I get they use wordplays specifically like this to be vague and leave more options for speculation though.
