Would appreciate composer names in either the title or the post, for recognition of their hard work.

Man, what a delightful little game. I guess it's not really "little," being a first-party Sony title and all, but it feels like a breath of fresh air compared to just about every other AAA-published title as of late. Cohesive, intuitive, and fun mechanics, whimsical environments with lots to explore, and not a single microtransaction in sight. Well-deserved Game of the Year.

When I was growing up, there was a website called OCRemix. It had a ton of remixes of video games, and a lot of fantastic ones. I still have old CDs that me and friends went and burned quite a long time ago.

I tried to find some of the songs on the site and it looks like:

  1. At some point, everything went to youtube
  2. Looks like a lot of the links that im seeing are no longer on youtube(?). Im getting a lot of "This video isn't available anymore"

Where are all the old songs? Does anyone know?

here's an 8 bit inspired fiddle tune video game video. There's a whole album of this stuff on the old time tiki parlor site.

Someone commented about this game on /c/nintendo and I immediately got this track on my mind.

The entire OST is great but this one is easily my favorite of the battle tracks.

The concept album at the heart of the 2016 Kickstarted reboot of a 2003 cult classic rhythm game. Between the original and this reimagining, developer Harmonix would rewrite the book on music games via Guitar Hero 1, 2, and then Rock Band and its sequels before returning to smaller fan-requested projects like this one and my poor, sweet Chroma.

A woman trapped in her own mind and a man willing to undertake an experimental medical procedure to save her, told over 15 levels/tracks. Gameplay involves rapidly switching paths to shoot targets in time with a different instrument on each path, eventually completing enough sequences to make all tracks play simultaneously and hear the complete song. Powerups and a score system keep players aiming for perfect performance and timing on each instrument and each track.
