OBSERVATIONS:

  1. This table was last updated 09/09/2023

  2. Data was manually gathered by me from every single listed Indexer... EXCEPT for: NZB.cat and Tabula-Rasa because I couldn't get into them.

  3. PLEASE HELP WITH BETTER INFO IF YOU HAVE IT. Help correcting any inconsistency. I hope to keep the table updated.

  4. Every Indexer that does not accept any type of cryptocurrency accepts PayPal (or is free).

  5. There are some deliberate indexer omissions (mainly: wtf, in, omg and to) because besides not being a member of any of these omitted sites (as I wish I was), I understand that they don't like to be exposed and I respect that. If you represent any site listed that also don't want to be in this table, message me.

  6. Use this info as you wish, just credit the Usenet Lemmy community to help increase its' visibility and share the joy.

  7. For more info on how and why I created this table, read my comment bellow, and be welcome to comment and discuss about the aforementioned indexers.

Hello!

~~Could somebody please send me an invite to~~ DOGnzb? I am interested on it due to its' fame for international content.

I know I have to pay for the indexer, and I will.

EDIT: Received! Thank you very much!!

Just to share this useful tool and to have it here @Lemmy.

I have never found anything as detailed as this on "retention per provider" analytics. This site allows us to set a newsgroup and check the retention of most providers for the given newsgroup.

I have just used the largest newsgroup available for the linked URL, but you can check any newsgroup and see how the providers behaves on each one, updating every minute.

Yet another update for the backbones map posted before here. Keep in mind that it is still some months old, but was the last one made by this person.

If anybody has updates to its' information, please comment so that we can update the svg ;)

I hope it's usefull! (And don't forget whatsmyuse.net as a reference too…)

NinjaCentral is open for registrations!

I heard it's only for 24 hours, but haven't confirmed that.

It looks like I just missed out on open registration. If anyone has an invite they could spare, I would appreciate it so much.

Thanks!

Hey everyone! So I've setup successfully Sonarr, Radarr and Bazaar and they all communicate to each other fine. One think I can't understand why, is that when I search from Prowlarr and forward the downloads to SABnzbd, after the download is done, Sonnar and Radar will not import the files to their database, but the downloads stay in the downloads folder. When I search and download from Sonarr and Radarr everything is placed nicely. Using Usenet and hardlinks; so downloads in X folder and moved to Y(tv shows) and Z(movies) folders. In Sonaar and Radarr I've mapped such folders as you might understand.

Is this how Prowler works (meaning) downloads just stay in the download client folder and then I have to manually import them to Sonarr and Radarr?

hi all,

i have joined recently the world of the usenets but it looks like everything is dominated by the english with little to nothing to other languages

I am looking for a usenet server with good content of media in non-english, preferrably german, spanish or french (i am from europe)

can anybody suggest something for an usenet noob? it is not important if the content is behind a pay wall, but if the server needs invitation it would be good if a good samaritan can spare one :)

thanks in advance

Hi folks sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm fairly new to Usenet and although I have it all set up, I saw some instructions to use a docker to run SABnzbd in?

I've been using it for about a month without one, but I'm worried there might be adding security or privacy risk?

[W] DogNZB Invite (lemmy.dbzer0.com)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by [email protected] to c/usenet

Hi all - anyone have a DogNZB invite they'd be willing to part with?

I've been researching indexers for a little while after getting into Usenet not long ago and was hoping to give Dog a go after reading good things. I'm also aware that there is no free option.

Thanks!

Edit: Just received an invite! Thank you so much to the community member who shared an invite! Really appreciate your generosity. And shout out to this great community as well!

Has anyone got an invite? I heard the site may have disabled them though?

I tried asking about verycouch on Reddit and it immediately got removed, something to do with site with backdoor access?

I basically seem to have an account there from years ago, but logging in it seems I need to pay for API. Is it any good?

Hello! I would like to better know what you guys think is best in specific indexers. For instance, easynews websearch is good to find a lot (even newly released) shows from both US, UK and DE. I was surprised with the availability of european movies there and it has some good filtering options (ui v2 is just better, looks more like a normal indexer webpage). My example is not the best since easynews is not quite an indexer per si, but could you guys tell what makes your favorite indexers better for you? Is one better organized? Is another good for any specific niche (ie: japanese stuff, or euro shows, or latin american movies or whatever) ? I know it has been asked a lot and written a lot elsewhere, but it could be nice to have some content here @ lemmy too!

Free indexers (self.usenet)

Hi, I'm new to the world of usenet. I am on a 3 days trial period on nzbgeek which is very good but the trial is very limited (3 days, 15 nzb) I found out about nzbscout (really bad, only popular stuff) and wanted to know if there are some free indexers which are worth it. There's a reddit post with the following recommendations:

NZBindex - no limits, just a general search not the easiest to find things

Binsearch - no limits, just a general search not the easiest to find things

Nzbking - no limits but very hard to navigate and find what you want but they have very old stuff that nobody else does- my go to when others do not have content

Nzbfinder - limit of 5 per day for free I think, but they are solid.

Aznzb -25 per day limit for free ..not a very good database in my opinion though

Drunkenslug - limit of 5 per day.

I've tried Nzbfinder and they do are solid. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks!

If you can make this wish happen I would be most grateful. Thank you for your consideration (I know they are limited).

I am going to start by saying I am trying to avoid reddit, as such, this is probably information that has been asked MANY times and I also found similar reddit posts that I just didn't want to click on. So here goes.

I am currently wanting to move from my NL hosted VPS that I use with my torrents. I normally only use a single private tracker and have a 2.5 ratio with 25tb overhead. I have just done things relativity manually and just download top things for the day on my tracker, as well was auto-tools with rutorrent setup for rss feed automated downloads.

My current project for my library is to migrate to the arr's for all of this. As I have learned these a bit, I have decided that I would like to move towards usenet and start using it, along side of my current private tracker.

While cost is a factor, it is not that much of an issue. My questions are;

  1. what would be a decent usenet provider? The biggest thing that I want out of it would be speed. I want my releases to download as fast as possible. I am based in the US I also would like to have a decent provider with a decent retention, although it isn't that big of a deal.

  2. what indexers would be worth while to pursue and add to prowlarr? I have signed up for free accounts on nzbgeek and nzbplanet. A similar search that is not on my private tracker, I found nzb geek had episode 2, while planet had both episode 1 and 2 available.

My downloads are really only movies and tv shows.

It has been so long since I have been in usenet, but I was looking at joining giganews, but wanted to see if they are even worth the cost for what I am after.

Thank you all for you help on this. I appreciate your time on my questions that get asked daily.

This map will help you determine which provider you choose for your service. The top tier resells their groups to the providers below on the tree. For best results subscribe to one of the providers in one color; and buy block access from another provider. This will help ensure that the posts that you need to download are complete. It also shows the retention time of each provider; however I have found this to be inaccurate; many of the providers host messages for a much longer timel

Important Note: There is an update to the provider map; this is 2022 if someone knows the changes and can edit the .svg file or provide the information it would be greatly appreciated.
