I am a high school student and I constantly hear my parents and other adults talking about how English teachers are the worst. I don't understand though, because English teachers are generally the best. I have never had an English teacher who wasn't friendly and understanding. They also actually teach kids to analyze instead of regurgitate information.

I appreciate this annual opportunity to reflect on mandatory policies for my district while creating D&D maps for my ongoing campaigns.

I find that the bureaucratic hellscape that is annual training really fuels the development of Kafkaesque mazes and puzzles that grind down my players' will to live.

How do you pass the time during mandatory online training videos?

I have stress dreams about work. Usually, they ease up in the summer, but begin to return in August.

Last night's dream was extra-special. I was co-teaching an overcrowded ebd classroom with none other than Marjorie Taylor Green.

I spent the period breaking up fights caused by Ms. Green insulting the students.

It's going to be a great year!

I think that it is interesting to talk with other teachers about content and regional education differences. So, let's get to know one another.

Country: USA Years Teaching: 10 Subject: Special Education, Behavior Grades: 7-9 currently, K-9 over the years.

Ask me anything about special education, junior high, teaching in the USA, and post about yourself as well!

This will be my second year in a school tutoring. Though this year I'm spending 50% of it as a co-teacher. Tutoring will be with grades K-3 but I'm not sure of my mentor's room. I'll be getting my initial license this year. Any advice for the following few years? My license will be ECE.

Hi guys, because the person that created this community was banned from lemmy.world, @[email protected] told me to tag him here so he could turn it over to me. I would like to see it grow into a community where teachers, para-professionals, and supporters can find encouragement and inspiration and perhaps commiserate with each other a little.

What would you like to see out of a community like this?

There were no post on this instance, so I decided to start. 20 year music teacher here. I hope all teachers can vent, learn, and celebrate each other here.
