In the gaming world, there are "speedruns" which may attempt to make use of glitches or advantages in games to be able to complete them quicker.

So it seems possible that in a similar way, we might try to find glitches or advantages in life to be able to accomplish things quicker.

What are some of your top "life hacks" to "speedrun" through certain things in life?

How could the concept of "speedrunning" be applied to life, and where shouldn't it be applied?

claude.ai's summary (AI generated) from the captions:

In this interview, Ron Gilbert, the creator of the Monkey Island games, discusses his thoughts on people who speedrun Monkey Island 2. He says he loves watching speedruns and respects the skill involved, as speedrunners have to deeply understand the game mechanics to break the intended pacing and narrative. Gilbert talks about some of the design decisions behind elements like the randomization of puzzles, noting they tried to prevent brute forcing solutions. He also admits some parts like the ending of Monkey 2 were poorly designed. Overall, Gilbert seems to really enjoy seeing people speedrun his games in clever ways, though he doesn't partake himself.

I've always been interested in speedrunning as an avid collector of retro consoles (never enjoyed emulation much) and wanted to try to get into submitting times and sharing runs, but I'm not sure where to start tech wise. Is there a solid capture card out there that people are using for component-based consoles (i.e. Sega Saturn, Nintendo GameCube, etc.)? Would I need anything else?

Hi all! Welcome Celeste friends!

I Speedrun Any% with a current PB of 46:53

I also learned to speedrun Farewell (No DTS) and have a PB of 29:30 which I am quite proud of

I play on this by the way

I learned by simply playing once a day and getting slowly better over time. There is a lot you have to memorize but learning it is so satisfying. I love Celeste.

Feel free to share any thoughts or let us know what you like to do

I recently learned how to do the "All bosses" speedrun in Cuphead on an arcade stick! It's a lot of fun.

My personal best is just over an hour Next couple runs and I should get sub hour!

How about you guys? I recommend learning it if you're a speedrunner of another game
