Pioneering innovative ways to market the destination, Wesgro – the official tourism, trade and investment promotion agency for Cape Town and the Western Cape – has launched a new Roblox game to inspire tweens, teens, and their families to explore the Western Cape this winter.

The game Starlight Adventures In The Cape Karoo aims to drive tourism across the region, highlighting lesser-known but exciting family destinations where tourism is critical to the local economy.

Wesgro is the first tourism promotion agency in the world to use Roblox in its marketing campaigns, with today’s launch being the second game it has released on the platform.

SARS announced filing season deadlines for individuals and trusts, and provided more clarification on Auto-Assessments.

Deadlines for Filing Season 2022/2023:

• Individual and Trust Filing Season Opens: 7 July 2023 at 20:00

• Submission Deadline for Non-provisional taxpayers: 23 October 2023

• Submission Deadline for Provisional taxpayers: 24 January 2024.

• Auto Assessments will be issued from 1 July 2023 to 7 July 2023. If incorrect, taxpayers have until 23 October 2023 to file an amended return.

This route will be located through the Karoo, some distance west of the N1 highway.

Between the mid-1700s and the mid-1800s, an increasing number of people travelled north, from the Cape Colony, to the new frontier along the Orange River. From the 1780s, another route went northwards from Tulbagh, then through the Karoo, via Sutherland, Fraserburg, Carnarvon, Griquatown, or Blinkklip (later called Postmasburg), Danielskuil and Kuruman.

The main theme will be the forgotten history of different peoples along the route. By providing information to travellers (in pamphlet and online formats), they will know what the key historical events and dynamics were along the route. This will be an intrinsically multi-cultural experience.
