Nope I guess I just wanted to bring up this reply of yours again. I don't know who down voted it but thought they might want to have a look at it again. Lol

So I find this a good time to come back here and reflect on what we mentioned in our posts. So given what you said in your last reply and the latest outcome, what are your thoughts. I like to hear your perspective

I'm not too familiar with what happened back then. Was too little to understand. So I usually step out of these type of conversations. However today I am thinking of my kids and their future. They will inherit what is done now. The comrades at the top in the ANC never knew what they had themselves in for, once they had to start taking over and I have always wondered what it would have been like if it was a hand over process, rather than just take your shit and run, for the de klerk manne. That always had me saying, just wait for the old kronies to retire, and the new gen will take over, with better perspectives and approach. Then along came parties like EFF who tagerted the youth and in all honesty, burdened them with the hurt of the previous gen. Making sure they will keep on ruling from the grave. So how do we change things. In my opinion, it'll always be education and time. That allows for individuals to make their own decisions based on facts and experiences. ....The ANC knows this though.

I think we all want a change yes, but realistically I think, without a significant precursor catalyst that causes a big change such as what the "again" is referring to, I really doubt it. Remember we were on near civil war state before things changed the last time.

Where I stay these temperatures can be quite normal in summer. I'm now just worried that a hot summer's day here will now go from 45 to 55. I've felt 50 before. It's not fun. But besides that, I think of the implications for the agricultural sector. Good luck my European friends. I'll report back in our summer.

Mlem/Memmy app. Very early stages of development, but looking really promosing. I have both, can't decide which one will end up being the daily driver yet. But how cool would it be if Apollo was ported over?

Thanks for the informative and accurate reminder! ... Crying in silence...

The post on the rules got me thinking about this.

The need to have some form of an understanding of decentralised systems is a slight downfall to the fediverse concept, in my opinion. Just signing up can be confusing for a start as people generally don't want to think further than providing an email to log into whatever is being served. People certainly do not want to think about how they conduct themselves without bots and algorithms moderating them. This is probably not our average reddit user I'm talking about here. I think Reddit has somewhat prepared it's subscribers in that we are now used to sub instances, moderated by (mostly)humans, within a single server instance. Hence the migration here. Now, let's do multiple server instances all over the world, all intertwined, with multiple layers of regulations dependant on the server you are posting on et cetera?... could be a bit of a brain full. Kind of sounds like I had to google my way into this community, right?

So here we are, just a few, who made it over. I don't know whether it was just my subs, but I always had a strong feeling of a big SA presence on Reddit. Some good, some bad. Nonetheless, I would love to get the best of the South African presence from reddit here. Does anyone feel that way, and if so, what are your thoughts on how we can make this move easier for our fellow war heros lost on read-only reddit?
