Used camera buying advice (self.sonycamera)

I don't know if there's actually anyone here but I'm looking to get my first camera and I like the Sony from what I see. Ideally I'd like one with ibis so I'm looking at at least a 6500 or a7 II. I know many will say that the full frame is not necessary, but on the used market they can be close in price so why not? Any tips for looking for them on the used market? I've noticed there's a lot of scammers out there that "want a deposit". Someone I know told me about Allen's camera shop, but that can be a bit expensive. If I find a legit seller on Facebook is there anything specific I should look for while checking out the camera?
