Hi, Skyrim Modding Community!

Just wanted to announce my most recent release for BHUNP v.4. I made a full support conversion for Hothtropper44's Immersive Armors with support for Xavbio's Immersive Armors Retexture and Mesh Fixes SE. I also made an IA Witchplate Standalone themed collection for BHUNP as well as HIMBO. The standalone includes Xavbio's blue, purple, orange, and an additional six themes such as green, pink, red, royal blue, silver, and yellow. 3BA and CBBE coming soon for the Witchplate Standalone themes add-on.

Vanilla Follower Expansion - Brelyna adds new lines to Brelyna, the new student at the College of Winterhold, including lore-friendly conversation and location-specific idle comments!

This mod adds ~100 new lines of dialogue to Brelyna, generated with Elevenlabs AI voice cloning. She's a new to the College, and Skyrim as a whole. She'll make a few comments on cities, dungeons and other locations. 100% lore-friendly (but not canon)!

You will be able to access the new lines once you have completed her quest "Brelyna's Practice", and have recruited her as your follower.

What this mod does:

  • Add idle dialogue to Brelyna

  • Add backstory to Brelyna

  • Integrate into the vanilla follower system

  • Expand a tiiiiiiiny bit on her romance

What this mod does not do:

  • Turn her into a "super-follower" à la Inigo, Lucien, Remiel, etc.

  • Add any new follower mechanics

  • Edit her appearance (the screenshot is from Nordic Faces)

I've been following the news on this particular patch for a while now on the official Xelzaz Discord server, so I'm pretty excited to see that it's finally come out! From a couple of the comments that Xelzaz's author BluePwnsU made during development, it seems like there was some specific coding implemented to make sure that Xelzaz doesn't fall behind while you complete all the parkour puzzles that Sirenroot uses, as well as some other more specific things implemented for more spoilery, plot-related purposes. All in all, it apparently came out to around 160 lines of dialog in total, which is quite a lot for one quest!

Sirenroot is already a quest mod with a lot of hype behind it, so Xelzaz getting a patch for it is going to add yet another layer to the experience.

“The Restless Dead” improves undead enemies, increases their variety, and makes them more challenging to fight.

Introduction:

Skyrim’s map is dotted with ancient temples, tombs and ruins. In the vanilla game, these dungeons are usually populated by the undead, mainly draugr, occasionally skeletons or ghosts. But encounters with these enemies tend to be a bit underwhelming, due to the lack of variety in appearance and skill between them. All draugr wear the same armor pieces, and their tactics are extremely limited. Fights with “unique” bosses usually feature some interesting mechanic, but even these draugr use the same model as regular enemies. Skeletons are unarmored Level 1 pushovers. Ghosts are just semi-transparent glowing bandits.

“The Restless Dead” breathes new life into these rotting corpses by overhauling pretty much every aspect related to the undead.

Features:

Localized Enemy Spawns:

Dungeons populated by the undead have been grouped into different categories:

  • Dragon Cult Temples
  • Solstheim Tombs
  • Ancient Tombs
  • Special Dungeons

Each dungeon type spawns specific foes that fit its theme.

Increased Visual Variety:

New draugr and skeleton models have been added, making it easier to deduce an enemy’s class and level

Smarter and Tougher Enemies:

Encounters with the undead have been made more challenging and dangerous

  • All undead enemies were assigned new classes.

  • Stats and levels for undead enemies were revised and modified as necessary.

  • New enemy level tiers were introduced, the highest being seven. Tier 7 enemies scale up to Level 100, though at a slower rate than the player.

  • Leveled skeleton variants were introduced.

  • Leveled lists were modified to ensure that specific enemy types get the right equipment. Ebony items were removed from leveled lists. Ancient Nordic weapons were nerfed slightly. An extra tier was added to equipment lists for enemies in Ancient Tombs.

  • Undead enemies’ armor was given an actual armor rating.

  • New spells were added to certain enemy classes and bosses.

  • Undead enemies received perks that provide bonuses to attack, defense and spellcasting abilities based on their skill levels.

  • New combat styles were added to ensure that enemies make the most out of their skills, perks, spells and equipment. Higher level enemies are more skilled at combat.

  • Named bosses were given unique skills, perks, spells or equipment that set them apart from regular enemies.

New Features:

(Note: All of the following features have been implemented in part, but will be expanded further in later updates).

  • New unique bosses were added to dungeons that didn’t have one (still a work in progress, a number of dungeons have a placeholder NPC for now).

  • Most named bosses carry unique items (hold on to these items for now, as they will be reviewed and modified at a later date).

  • Dragon Priests and dragon worshippers may drop bone charms when they die. Don’t dispose of these bone charms yet, as they will be used to boost and upgrade Dragon Cult artifacts (which will be part of a later update).

Hi, I am looking for a new modlist to start a (long) playthrough. The only thing i absolutely want is Legacy of the Dragonborn to be a part of it, preferrably with a lot of plugins. Size and performance are irrelevant, since I have a pretty good PC, but I don't absolutely need every graphics mod possible. NSFW is fine, too, but not required.

I've gotten quite used to moving into Lakeview Manor from all of my various vanilla runs in the past, but I've now been modding for a while now and I still haven't settled on a new place to move into, so I figured I'd ask what everyone here is using!

The Legacy of the Dragonborn Safehouse is a recommendation that I often see and that I've tried out, and it's nice, but I'm still poking around because there's a couple of details that are still misaligned with what I'm looking for. Firstly, the flavoring of the home is more that you're essentially borrowing it than that it's yours, and I'd prefer to occupy a place that feels more like a home than just a sparkling condominium. And secondly, the layout in some spots feels utilitarian to the point that it takes away from my immersion. The mage crafting stations and the blacksmithing stations being in the same room is practical, but I'd really rather have one room for blacksmith things and another room for magical wizard things. Perhaps even multiple different magical wizard rooms. With all of the interactive features and wonderful follower patches available for the Safehouse, I can still see it being a place I go back to frequently, but it feels more like a social hub to me than a proper home.

Tel Jerdein is another incredibly nice mod that I was made better aware of due to the follower Xelzaz getting a small interaction patch for it. It is incredibly pretty, and combined with the tree mod Aspens Ablaze, the atmosphere of the location is breathtaking. And in this case, the mage bits are separate from the smithy bits, which is a nice plus. In this case, however, I have a different reason why I haven't decided to settle down. It's small! I can't help but feel a little bit cramped in it, even with as beautiful as the place is. And similarly to the Safehouse, Tel Jerdein has its own lore which makes me feel, roleplay wise, as though the place will be missed eventually. I've become quite taken with the idea of it being a house for Xelzaz, but I'd rather find someplace a bit bigger and less called for to truly take as my own.

I also tried the Staff of Shalidor at one point, because despite being even smaller than Tel Jerdein, I figured that the mobile house aspect might be practical, and all the images that I saw of it were also quite pretty. The gimmick of flipping upside-down in order to access each half of the house was also incredibly clever. Sadly, I ended up uninstalling it due to one problem that I never could have foreseen: the spinning background inside of the house gave me motion sickness.

Personally, I'm quite picky, so I'm still looking for the exact place I want to set my roots down in, but in addition to still seeing two of the three I listed above as worth keeping in my load order, all of the things I see as drawbacks in these three homes are highly subjective to the point that they could just as easily either not matter or actively be positives to someone else, so I was very careful to provide links to each of them. I'm sure folks have tried plenty of other house mods that I haven't, however, and I'd be quite curious to hear about them as well!

Who knows, perhaps one of us in this thread will find our Skyrim dream home?

For my next plaything, I want to try Seasons of Skyrim out. Has anyone here gotten it to work? What's the best setup at the moment?

I use Happy Little Tree's , so i think that limits me to Turn of the Seasons? . And I also use Timescale 10.

What else should I be doing / adding? Or should I take another approach?

I like Skyrim to be realistic and have a fully immersive, role playing experience. But sometimes I also like to just install 30-40 stupid joke mods and enjoy the chaos.

What are some good mods for just making Skyrim a mess? Especially looking for relatively new mods. I've seen the abomination races, Macho Man dragons, and swearing mudcrabs enough that they've lost their luster.

My favorite that I've added so far is Skyrim Chaos Edition.

Hi there.
I am modding Skyrim SE/AE (again) and am installing an ENB. I've done this a million times before and never had an issue, but I am guessing it may be to me missing some dependencies - such as some DirectX, or something else I am overlooking.

I built a new PC a couple of weeks ago, and I am using an Intel Arc A770 GPU.

When I run the game using SKSE on Mo2, it goes to a black screen with the ENB text showing in the top left. The screen stays black, then goes back to the desktop.

I have disabled all mods with the same thing happening. The only thing that stops the crash is to remove the d3d11 dll.

I'm not sure if this is something with the intel arc, or if anyone knows if perhaps there is a dependancy I'm missing?

I saw another post with a similar issue, and I downloaded DirectX Runtime June 2010, however that did not fix the issue.

Edit - Got it working! I deleted all of the ENB files, checked file integrity on Steam (which did download a file) Reinstalled Direct X. The ENB is now working :)

I am struggling with mods that replace the title menu. I am using main menu randomizer, skyui, and have tried several different main menu image mods, but all of them do not fill the screen.

Is there somewhere where there is a setting for how large the title image should be or how blown up or anything like that? Given how many mods this has happened with I am thinking it is not an attribute of the images themselves but rather how they are displayed, or maybe an issue with randomizer

Any help would be appreciated!

In spirit of getting more active on the site, I wanted to recommend to you guys the collection found on Nexus called "Constellations - A True RPG"

It's a Requiem-based total overhaul of just about everything in the game, with the main goal of increasing role-play opportunity and immersion, while I might add also greatly increasing the difficulty so that the game is quite challenging, and it takes practice to even take on your basic bandits.

I have for reference only explored around the Whiterun area with the mod, and everything feels very different from what I am used to when playing Skyrim with mods. I am about to enter Bleak Falls Barrow in my playthrough and just working through the bandits on the outside during the climb up the mountain proved to be an exciting challenge that I had to retry fighting a few times.

It is massive, with over 1400 plugins, and for me I have found it to be amazingly stable, which is great as the mods totally overhaul everything, and I as a busy person don't need to spend entire days devoted to building and troubleshooting a modlist. All that I have done is add a few extra little mods that looked cool or that I also like to my list on top of the collection, which was of course pretty simple as it was just a handful, and by nature of adding mods to a game already loaded up with other mods that have been meticulously configured, I would recommend that you don't mess around too much with adding anything too complex unless you are a more advanced modder.

The only potential downside is that you need to have the creation club DLC installed in order to play it, so unless you buy it or somehow get the files then you are out of luck on this one. The latest couple of updates to the collection also use the latest version of the game, so there is no need to downpatch, which I personally like, but if you wanted to add personal mods that aren't for this version, then you may need to use an older version or wait for those ones to be updated if it is a big deal to you that they are part of your load order.

There aren't any weird NSFW mods included (ie: no sex mods or anything that would be embarrassing if someone walked in on you playing) and there doesn't seem to be any bloat to it. Furthermore the creator uses some really awesome new mods like Seasons of Skyrim which really changes a lot up during a playthrough as you can see the world really change a lot during a playthrough. Everything feels purposeful, and the creator is still updating it actively to balance and add even more content to the collection. If you are someone who likes a great, challenging and immersive modlist, but don't have the time to build something so massive on your own and want to just plug and play, I feel that there are very few, if any, other collections out there that are at the level of this one. Big ups to the dude who took the time to actually make it.

Mods you didn't know you needed till you tried them. Here are some perhaps lesser known UI focused mods that are now must haves:

Pause After Load Unscripted - After loading a game or fast traveling, the screen just pauses until you click something. This is great when loading takes a while and you are looking away/doing something else. No ESP or scripts. SE/AE. Install/test/uninstall whenever.

Media Keys Fix SKSE - Finally a mod that lets you change volume inside the game without the problems of earlier attempts at this! No ESP. SE/AE. Install/test/uninstall whenever.

MainMenu Music Replacer - Wolf Princess (Adrian von Ziegler) (4K) - Celtic Theme - If you are new to the game, don't use this yet. But if you have heard the Skyrim intro many times, this is a breath of fresh air! Beautiful! Replaces the intro song and gives you a nice loading screen. No ESP. SE/AE. Install/test/uninstall whenever.

Hey everyone! I made quite a small mod for Alternate Skyrim.

The mod adds in a new merchant to the game which allows the player to obtain Daedric weapons. In exchange for human hearts, the Strange Man will sell the player a weapon of their choosing. These weapons have to be deciphered from his cryptic descriptions and the weapons aren't exactly cheap.

If you were wondering, the merchant does have a reason for the selling of these goods, he doesn't just stumble across them.

Help me be bad (self.skyrimmods)

Today I saw Playing a bad guy is hard, and I felt completely identified.

Whenever I try to do an evil playthrough I can't help to feel bad. For example, I feel bad when I have to kill Narfi, I feel bad when I have to break Bersi's urn or when I have to threaten Keerava. I don't even kill Nazeem.

What's wrong (right?) with me? What's your experience about this? Do you feel the same way about being evil in a game? And, since this is a modding community, do you have any mod recommendations?

I've been seeing a lot of suggestions on Lemmy to bring over posts from Reddit in order to beef up engagement, and this was one of my last posts on Reddit before arriving here, so I figured maybe asking the question here as well might be useful. And hey, maybe some new answers will come out of asking the question again, too!

Anyway, to establish why I asked the question the first time, Children of the Pariah, an orc overhaul by the author of Project ja-Kha'jay, was moved off of Nexus and onto Tumblr a while back. This got me curious as to what other mods might be hiding on various other websites that aren't normally brought up, since as we all know, Nexus is essentially the central hub for mod downloads.

Of course, I have to assign a caveat that, much as the sidebar for this community states, NSFW mods are a thing. In this case, not only would NSFW mods be low hanging fruit in this specific conversation, since we all know that there are a lot of them off of Nexus, but I also have a strong personal preference towards not including that kind of content in my load order. So instead I want to narrow the playing field to mods that are specifically Safe For Work/family friendly.

Not that I'm literally taking my personal copy of Skyrim to an office building or handing it off to a five year old. Those terms are simply turns of phrase that I hope get across what I'm asking about decently well. I'm looking to. . .ace my Skyrim load order, so to speak.

As mentioned above, I myself am currently using Children of the Pariah. I'm also aware of at least a couple of hosting sites where one can find some, including AFK Mods (although considering Arthmoor's reputation, I can see why some people would forego downloading from that specific hub). But I'm very curious to hear what everyone else is using from places outside of Nexus! If we're lucky, maybe all of us can discover some new things.
