For my next plaything, I want to try Seasons of Skyrim out. Has anyone here gotten it to work? What's the best setup at the moment?

I use Happy Little Tree's , so i think that limits me to Turn of the Seasons? . And I also use Timescale 10.

What else should I be doing / adding? Or should I take another approach?

I got it to work and am happy with it. I also use ulvenvald/seasonal aspens/simply bigger trees for trees and seasonal landscapes and time flies. TECHNICALLY seasonal landscapes and turn of the seasons can work together but is a little redundant. I do think happy little trees can work with seasonal landscapes too but haven't tried it. Imho seasonal landscapes looks better than turn of the seasons pretty significantly. recommend for seasonal unique plants as well. I have NOT gotten unfrozen to work well though.

Biggest recommendation is to use the previous version of seasons (check nexus comments for more details) or else your winter lods wont unload when you stand right next to them.

Also definitely use simplicity of snow, I found it is much more effective at covering non-winterized objects than BDS or others

Oh really? Didnt knoe HLT worked with seasonal landscapes. Thanks for all the tips.

Oncw i install it, what's thr best way to test all the seasons? Any way to change the date in game? I dont want to drop a ton of hours in there, get to summer and find out it's bugged out!

Yes! "Set.gamemonth to x" console command does it. That's what I used. Note that when you load into a new game you are technically in no month, and must change it before seasons starts. Also much safer to do that while inside. Keep in mind LODs won't reload either unless you manually reload them or reboot the game, so distant lods will look weird when you first change seasons. Wskeever has a mod to let you reload lods via mcm which helps with this.

If you aren't on PC, if you download holidays mod there is an option to set the game month in there on a new game

I'm on PC. This is super helpful. I might make a step by step post on how to get Seasons of Skyrim running. Many thanks for all your help!
